FaciPlan Facility Management Survey – This is the package that provides facility managers with the overview they need to identify the opportunities and requirements in managing their facility data. The Survey takes a three step approach that:

analyzes existing information and returns a report about it

utilizes a web meeting to review the report and to set goals for the installation

issues a final report with recommendations for the optimum solution
The Survey is available in two versions depending on the amount of information to be processed. The Basic Survey includes an analysis of 5 CAD dwg drawings and 5 Worksheets in Excel or Access databases and costs US$750. The Premium Survey processes up to 10 drawings and 10 datasources and costs US$1000.
1. Analyzing Existing Information - Most facilty managers can access company data from Excel, SQL or Access but unless they have an AutoCAD resource in-house, they could never get the information themselves about how the CAD file and its information can best be imported into Visio. A sample of the report shows the status of various CAD properties and how they impact the import:

The Data Analysis Report reviews the facility information currently available and compares it with the data properties that already exist in Visio for both formatting and content. The needed data structure is identified for Space ID, Department Owner, Room Type, as well as Employee, Inventory and Asset relations to the spaces.
2. Web Meeting - In the one to two hour internet meeting, goals for the project will be set and the Existing Information report will be reviewed and compared with data needed to accomplish the project’s stated goals. The design of Shape Data need within Visio will also be identified.
3. Final report - This will summarize the survey’s findings and point out the steps needed to successfully implement the solution.
